Its genus name originates from the Greek word “ἶρις” (îris), which means “Rainbow“, which is also the name for the Greek goddess rainbow. Iris flower is available in multiple colours, ranging from dark purples and blues to shades of white and yellow. It is a crucial and most important garden flower.

Iceland poppy is an exquisite, boreal flowering plant that belongs to the Papaveraceae family. They are intense but short-lived perennials that are commonly cultivated as biennials. They produce huge, papery, aromatic, bowl-shaped flowers held up by hair. 

The plants prefer well-drained soil and direct sunlight for their best growth. They are not heat tolerant, dying within a season in hot summer regions. The Iceland poppy pastel shades have different varieties of colours like orange, yellow, pink, and white.

The Iceplant, also known as “Carpet weeds,” belongs to the Aizoaceae family. It is a sun-loving flower that mainly blooms in dry weather. The corn lily has a mild fragrance and can attract bees and butterflies for pollination. They are non-toxic.  

The orange-yellow flowers have six petals reaching up to 2.5 inches in length. The leaves are tall and sword-like, up to 10-20 inches long.

This Indian Cress has many benefits for the human skin, such as maintaining its health and recovering its softness. Moreover, it revives the hair health and improves the appearance of dry skin. It helps maintain a healthy garden by attracting beneficial insects. It is a non-toxic and edible herb.

Iberis | Flowers Starting With Letter I

Candytuft is another name for the Iberis flower, which belongs to Brassicaceae. Family. This charming groundcover plant has short heaps of small white blooms. They are most appropriate for the borders of the rock garden, which provides a zone with a very systematic and appealing look.

They are highly used in treating industrial wastewater by constructed marshland because they help remove organic load and chlorinated compounds. The starch of Indian Shot is recommended for use in baby food and baking.

Ipheion Flower | Flowers That Start With I

Ipheion Flower is a true example of God’s beautiful creation, known as the “Spring star” or  “Sprong Starflower.” It belongs to the Amaryllidaceae family.  A  charming bulbous perennial flowering plant that grows from a small bulb and gives rise to flat, sparkling, green, hairless leaves up to 12 inches long.
